2020, Goals

No one is good at keeping New Year’s Resolutions. I always do my best to make some major change that would ultimately make me a better person. But we all know major changes done drastically are impossible to keep. This year I decided to create a list of goals and try to maintain them throughout the year while trying to improve myself.

Goals:

Be Present: I need to put down the phone, and be present with my girls. Be present with my husband, mom, in-laws, friends, etc. I want to enjoy Dylan and Tabitha while they are little. I don’t want them to remember me on my phone. I want them to remember me playing with them and being there for them. Days are flying. Dylan is half way through kindergarten already. I want to absorb and be with them. Easier said than done. I am struggling to put my phone down. I need keep it out of arms reach. And think before I scroll. Do I need to aimlessly look at IG? Likely no.

And I know it will be even more challenging when Dylan is not in school. I want to be better with my diet. I know all about caloric intake and burning calories. But I like fatty foods and veggies aren’t always the nicest to my body. I need to find a good balance.  I also need to take my health seriously and get a dr for myself close to our new home.

fashion-woman-notebook-pen-34072Creative: I’ve always been creative. I made scrapbooks, origami, friendship bracelets, wrote, went to ceramic classes, etc. As I have gotten older, I haven’t been as creative as I once was mostly due to time.  Over the past 10 years I have found a good medium with this blog, art projects with the kids, homemade gifts for grandparents, etc. My skills are improving. I need to be better at not overthinking a project and waiting until the last minute to start it. I need to just go for it so I am not rushing.  I also want to write more by posting at least one blog post a month.

sport-alley-ball-game-4192Plan: In 2020, I want to do better at planning activities for the girls and family outings. I procrastinate a lot lately. I want to do better at staying on top of our weekends and doing fun things together. Activities can be expensive. It’s at least $100 for the 4 of us to do something fun. I want to be better about searching Groupon, Gold Star, etc. for deals.

How do you plan on handling this new year? Did you make resolutions? If so, how do you plan on keeping them? Comment below. I would love to hear how you plan on growing this year either with personal goals or resolutions.

  1. These sound like realistic goals and a direction, but not expectation to guide you. Hope it helps you find the balance we all seek
