2021, Personal Goals

In the beginning of 2020, I made goals for the new year instead of resolutions. It was 4 simple goals to follow throughout the year to improve myself. The goals where to be present, stay healthy, be creative, plan in advance.

For the most part I was able to stick to these goals during a trying year.

Be Present: It was definitely challenging to be present and off my phone. With lockdown, I was more obsessed with phone than ever before. It was my outlet to my friends/family. It helped me feel like the walls where not closing in on me.

In 2021, I want to continue to work on being present. I want to put my phone away. I want to read with my girls and not worry about what I am missing on social media. What matters most is spending time with my girls and really being present with them. They are growing so fast and I don’t want regret missing out on any of it.

Stay Healthy: I did workout, hike/walk 4-5 times a week last year. More than anything walking really helped my sanity. Some days was just a 15 minute walk to clear my head while other days I would hike hard for an hour. I also have been doing free Orange Theory classes as well as Fit4mom virtual classes to break it up. Plus working out virtually made it a lot easier to do on those cold and windy days.

This year, I plan to continue to walk/workout 4-5 days a week. Plus will work on my diet. I did fall off track last year with eating out of boredom. I already started eating healthier. I am even taking my husband along for the ride.

Creative: Last year I was much more creative than I have been in years. We crafted almost daily between painting, coloring, making puppets, etc. The girls and I had a lot of fun doing it, so much so they ask to craft almost daily.

I plan to continue to craft. I hope to take on a few projects for myself. I would love to learn how to knit. Plus, my goal is to write at least 3 times a week.

Plan: I was as good as I could be with planning last year. With not being able to leave our home, I didn’t have much to plan. When we get our vaccines, and things open up, I hope to plan more activities to do as a family when/if we feel more comfortable to do so. I really am hopeful one of the first things I can plan is the girl’s birthday party in June/July.

Other than these simple goals for 2021, my goals are to take time for myself more, which has been next to impossible in the pandemic. I would love more than anything to get a professional manicure and massage.

Did you follow through with your goals for last year? What are your goals for this year? How do you plan to accomplished it? Comment below. I would love to hear from you!
